The annual Barcelona Sonar Music Festival is set for the weekend of June 17, 18 and 19, adding to demand for hotels and flights to this popular European city destination.
BARCELONA, SPAIN, May 05, 2010 /Music and Recording PR News/ -- A full programme involving more than 50 artists on several stages over the three-day period is expected to draw the crowds to the city, putting pressure on scarcity of hotel rooms during the summer in Barcelona.
Big names like the Chemical Brothers, Air and Roxy Music, as well as numerous emerging bands and DJs guarantee the event will be well attended, and out-of-town visitors are advised to book hotels well in advance.
"Barcelona hotels book out quickly in the summer, even without special events like these, and we advise music fans to get online soon and find a room that suits their budget, or they'll be struggling to get accommodated," says Lek Boonlert from hotel booker DirectRooms.com.

Sonar, is a music and multimedia art festival, organised in June each year to bring diverse music and fans to the city. It comprises day activities (held in the CCCB and MACBA venues) as well as Sonar by Night (put on at Fira Gran Via M2 L'Hospitalet), with some additional independent gigs at smaller venues.
More than 75,000 people attended the various evenings and venues at last year's event.
