Susan Mariscal named Professional of the Year in 2010
BRYSON CITY, NC, April 13, 2010 /Music and Recording PR News/ --Susan Mariscal, Performer and Teacher, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in piano performance and teaching.
For nearly 50 years, Susan Mariscal has dedicated her life to teaching, performing and her passion for music. She started her piano study with Dr. Kurt Rogozinski at the age of six and after graduating from high school in 1957 studied for two years under Armand Basile at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance in 1962 from the State University of Iowa in Iowa City under John Simms. She began teaching after graduating and still continues. In 1991 Ms. Mariscal received her Master of Music degree in piano performance from the University of South Florida in Tampa where her professor was Jacque Abrams. She has served as the chairperson and co-chair for annual recital festivals for students of teachers of the Upper Pinellas Music Teachers Association in Clearwater, Florida. She has also has played on multi piano performances, recognized for her impressive skills.
Today, Ms. Mariscal performs on recitals, programs, weddings and renders private lessons for all ages and levels. Named Cambridge Publishing's 2010 Professional of the Year, she credits her success to her desire to impart her love of music to others. She is a certified piano teacher and judge for state student events and competitions by the Florida State Music Teachers Association. She is also a proud member of the Upper Pinellas Music Teachers Association (which is affiliated with the Florida State Music Teachers Association and the Music Teacher National Association), Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, National Guild of Piano Teachers and Piano Technicians Guild.
